We’re delighted to welcome the Kami × Stella Alpha litter, born October 15, 2026, in Mountain View, Wyoming! Our four new arrivals are two red boys, one black-and-tan boy, and one red girl.
We’re calling them The Kimi Legacy Litter, honoring the foundation female who appears on both sides of their pedigree: GCH CH Morningstar-Gaylord No Kinshu Go Sho Mai Sou, known as Kimi.
This litter brings together Kimi’s descendants through two different daughters—Michiko and Bella. That connection is the heart of this breeding and makes these puppies especially meaningful to our program.
Through their sire, CH Gaylord’s Kami of Shomaisou — Kami, the puppies descend from Kimi through her daughter Gaylord’s Michi BB Shomaisou, known as Michiko. Kimi is Kami’s maternal grandmother.
Through their dam, H.O.T. Stellar Expectations At Goldkress — Stella, they descend from Kimi through Gaylord’s Bella Redd Dancer Sho Mai Sou, followed by CH Gaylord’s Back in Black at House of Treasure, known as Jada. Kimi is Stella’s maternal great-grandmother.
Our new arrivals are therefore Kimi’s great-grandchildren through Kami and her great-great-grandchildren through Stella.
Kimi was born September 1, 2011, bred by Joan Morningstar, and owned by Rex and Tanya Gaylord. Fifteen years later, two branches of her family have come together in another Shomaisou litter.
Stella’s branch has traveled through Ohio, Georgia, and Kansas, with this new chapter unfolding here in Wyoming. Bringing that family line back into our breeding program makes this a homecoming as well as a new beginning.
The Kimi Legacy theme celebrates that return. Names we’re considering include Shomaisou’s Legacy Lives On, Shomaisou’s Coming Full Circle, Shomaisou’s Return to Sender, Shomaisou’s Where It All Began, Shomaisou’s Family Tradition, and Shomaisou’s The Long Way Home.
Two personal favorites are Shomaisou’s Coming Full Circle for our red girl and Shomaisou’s Legacy Lives On for one of the boys. We’ll share their final names as we get to know them.
For now, our focus is on Stella and her newborns. We look forward to sharing their growth, first milestones, and emerging personalities over the coming weeks.
